About the Summit
Hosted by AWS, Databricks and LinqAlpha, the AI for Finance Summit is a private gathering for senior finance professionals to explore the industry’s next technical frontier. The San Francisco edition tracks the shift from AI as an assistant a human checks at every step to an agent that runs many steps unsupervised, and it asks what has to be true inside a firm before that shift is safe.
San Francisco is where these models are built. The companies training them sit a mile from this room, and yet institutional adoption is uneven and slow. That puts the bottleneck inside the firm rather than in the technology. This edition looks at where it actually sits: on the research desk, inside the systematic process, and in the data layer underneath both.
The program is one fireside and three panels, followed by drinks and networking. The Research Desk covers what analysts actually use eighteen months in, and what got built and quietly dropped. The Reproducibility Problem covers systematic investing with a model that will not give the same answer twice. AI-Ready Data covers the phrase everyone sells and nobody defines. This San Francisco edition, held during a16z SF Tech Week, continues a global series with past events in Boston (with J.P. Morgan), New York (with OpenBB and Guidepoint), Asia (with LSEG) and London (with Deutsche Bank).
To facilitate candid discussion, the summit will be held under the Chatham House Rule. No recording or press will be permitted.
