Meet the team

After years as a hedge fund analyst who became convinced AI would reshape investment research, Jack saw LinqAlpha as a team already building the very thing he'd thought about starting himself. He joined to help however he could, and now, as Head of Product, he's building a product to transform the field.

Hi, I'm Jack Haverty, Head of Product at LinqAlpha. What I'm here to do is easy to say and hard to do: build a product that transforms investment research.

I come to this from inside the industry. I spent years in equity research, as an associate at Wolfe Research and then an analyst at Gabelli and Cramer Rosenthal McGlynn, with a Columbia MBA in value investing along the way. Somewhere in there I also became an avid user of AI tools and a bit of a vibe coder myself.

Working as a hedge fund analyst, I became convinced AI was going to transform this space. Instead of going off to start my own thing, I was genuinely impressed by what this team had already built and wanted to help however I could, so I joined. The first thirty days only confirmed it. The pace of execution, and the quality and professionalism of the people, were unlike anywhere I'd worked before. If I had to name the culture in one word, it's execution.

Product sits in an unusual spot here. We're essentially part of the business team, talking to customers and hearing what's working and what isn't, while working just as closely with engineering to ship the features. My biggest tip for making that work is to default to over-communicating rather than under. What still gives me a charge is sitting with the engineers, talking through cutting-edge AI and trying it out ourselves; it feels like a mini R&D lab with some of the best minds in the space. When we marry the business team's domain knowledge with engineering's technical depth, we feel genuinely powerful.

The project I'm proudest of is the LLM wiki feature, and now the knowledge graph we're building on top of it, which we think could become a defining capability of the product. The payoff is what I see every day: clients covering more stocks with fewer people, in less time than anyone else, with a world-class analytics system at their disposal. Quality always comes first for me, but in a space moving this fast we need both speed and quality, and finding that balance is what we're constantly navigating.

Outside of work, you'll usually find me with my wife and daughter, hunting down a new restaurant, or at a live show. But what I can't wait to get back to is building something that changes how investment research gets done.
